CONSIDERATIONS IN CALCULATING TREES TO PAPER
Claudia Thompson, in her book Recycled Papers: The Essential Guide (Cambridge, MA: MIT Press, 1992), reports on an estimate calculated by Tom Soder, then a graduate student in the Pulp and Paper Technology Program at the University of Maine. He calculated that, based on a mixture of softwoods and hardwoods 40 feet tall and 6-8 inches in diameter, it would take a rough average of 24 trees to produce a ton of printing and writing paper, using the kraft chemical (freesheet) pulping process.
The concept of go green injects a penetrating thought to start this paper pencil.
When the paper is recycled the amount of contribution to the water pollution made us to think an alternative way to use the newspapers and final recycled papers were considered to create this paper pencil to save the pay per ml of pollution.
Watch this space for more details to know what is final recycled papers. ….To be continued.
Pencil is a part of every individuals life right from childhood. Every child had proud moments how they started with the first pencil for drawing and writing in the wall.
Pencil is a useful tool where one can write, shade, sketch, draw, design, trace, diagra and correct off using an eraser and are user friendly
Just to wrap up the charcoal stick in a piece of wood had solved the cleanliness of hands. But did it justify the contribution of ours towards our eco system? The number of trees cut to wrap a pencil started causing imbalance in the eco system without awareness to the consumers.
Our story started while we wrapped a piece of charcoal pieces in a sheet of paper to shade our drawing.
So we decided to reduce the pay-per pencil, our eco system is contributing and started our payper pencil work station.
Pencil’s story and journey experience will continue in next episode ….
